Scott Russett Announced as Chief Financial Officer for the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan

The Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (AAAWM) is pleased to announce that Scott Russett has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Previously the Deputy Finance Director and Controller at the agency, Russett will now oversee, develop, and monitor the $60 million annual agency budget through coordination of the agency’s various funding streams. He will also lead internal and external audits, prepare financial reporting to the Board of Directors, and manage the finance department.

“Scott has been an invaluable part of the agency finance team, making improvements to our processes over the past year. With extensive expertise in finance and a proven track record, Scott will lead our financial operations, drive growth, ensure transparency, and play a pivotal role in shaping our company's future,” shared AAAWM CEO, Kendrick Heinlein.

Russett assumes the CFO role after many professional years as a senior accountant at various Grand Rapids area organizations including Calvin College, Amway Corporation, and most recently the UFCW Local 951. In addition to his financial expertise, Russett also holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwood University and a Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting Fraud Investigation from Davenport University. Scott is involved in volunteerism with the VITA (low tax preparation) program and the Kids Food Basket.

“I’m happy to be continuing my work at AAAWM and managing the funds that do so much good for our region’s seniors and caregivers. The team at the agency is one I’m proud to work with, and I look forward to how I can bring my experience to build upon this agency’s financial goals and best support our community partners,” explained Russett.
