Help Texts: A New Tool For Caregivers

Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan is dedicated to providing older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers equitable access to services that promote independence and dignity in their communities. This commitment has led us to collaborate with Help Texts to offer caregivers caring for an older adult a 12 month complimentary subscription to mental health support via text message. This is not therapy, but one-way communication with a mental health professional providing encouragement on your caregiving journey. Sign up below if you are:

  • Looking for health and well-being support, including caregiver tips and resources
  • A caregiver to someone 60 years or older who lives in our 9-county region
  • A caregiver who is also 60 years or older who lives in our 9-county region

It will take less than 5 minutes to sign up, and then your texts will begin right away. You'll receive two texts each week and additional messages in the first few weeks of your subscription and on important anniversaries and holidays for you and your loved one. You can stop and start the messages anytime.

This service is intended for caregivers caring for a loved one who is 60 years or older and residing in Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo, and Osceola counties. Sign up now at helptexts.com/aaawm
