Become a Partner

How to become an Older Americans Act Partner:

Every three years, an open proposal process provides any incorporated entity the opportunity to submit a proposal to provide one or more of the defined, fundable services.  If an agency is selected, their contract will remain in effect for 3 years, though funding can vary from year to year.  The next open proposal process begins March 28, 2019 with the release of the FY 2020 - 2022 Older Americans Act (OAA) proposal.

Funding Process:

The next three year funding process begins in spring of 2019. A Proposal Workshop will be held on April 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan located at 3215 Eaglecrest Drive NE, Grand Rapids. At this workshop, staff will meet with proposing agencies to discuss and answer questions pertaining to the proposal.   Proposing agencies are encouraged to submit questions in writing before the workshop.  Written questions submitted prior to the proposal workshop will be answered atthe workshop only.  All proposing agencies are encouraged to attend, whether you are currently funded or not.  After the proposal workshop, any additional questions must be submitted in writing to the AAAWM by April 17, 2019.  No questions will be answered by phone. Written questions submitted after the proposal workshop and by April 17, 2019 will be responded to in writing and all proposing agencies will receive a copy by email or fax.  It is the responsibility of the proposing agency to provide contact information to proposal@aaawm.org.

Proposals are due May 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).   They will be accepted from incorporated entities and reviewed by the Proposal Review Committee (PRC) made up of AAAWM Board and Advisory Council members.  Proposers will make brief proposal presentations on June 17, 18 or 20, 2019 to the PRC.  The PRC will make their funding recommendation to the AAAWM Advisory Council and AAAWM Board of Directors.

Three-year contracts will be awarded for FY 2020 - 2022. Services will begin October 1, 2019. Funding levels for services are accredited annually by the PRC based on availability of State and Federal dollars. The proposal and accompanying materials can be downloaded from the links provided below.
