Help Shape Michigan’s Next State Plan on Aging
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is developing the next State Plan on Aging, and they want to hear from you!
The plan outlines Michigan’s statewide goals, priorities, and strategies for supporting older adults, caregivers, and the aging services network. While the plan is developed by MDHHS and is not specific to the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (AAAWM), it plays an important role in shaping how Older Americans Act funding is directed and helps guide programs that support older adults in every community.
To inform this process, MDHHS has released a Needs Assessment survey for older adults, caregivers, and community members. Feedback collected will help identify priorities for MDHHS in supporting the health and well-being of older adults in Michigan by:
- Better understanding older adults’ needs in Michigan,
- Learning what services and supports are most important to older adults,
- Identifying gaps and opportunities to strengthen Michigan’s aging network.
This survey should take about 15 minutes and is available to be completed online or downloaded. Survey responses must be submitted by December 15th.
