Kent County Senior Millage Partners

Kent County Senior Millage Providers receive funding from the Millage to serve older adults age 60 and over in Kent County.

How to become a Kent County Senior Millage Partner:

Every year there is an open proposal process that provides any incorporated entity the opportunity to submit a Letter of Intent to request funding for a service for older adults in Kent County. The Letter of Intent process begins July 1 and lasts one month. Letters of Intent submitted are reviewed by the Kent County Millage Review Committee who selects those that can submit a proposal.  Service Providers are recommended for funding in October and are notified of final approval by late November.  Services start on January 1.

Funding Process:

The annual funding process starts July 1 for a new agency with a submission of a Letter of Intent.  Letters of Intent submitted are reviewed by the Kent County Millage Review Committee (KCMRC) who selects those that can continue on and submit a proposal.  Proposals are due early September and are reviewed by the nine member KCMRC. A short proposal presentation is made to the KCMRC in October who then makes funding recommendations based on need, funding availability and priority services.

Recommendations are considered and approved by the AAAWM Executive Committee, Kent County Finance Committee and the full Kent County Board of Commissioners. Agencies are notified in late November of the funding recommendations with a service start date of January 1.

The next proposal process will be for a one year contract starting January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Funding levels for services are decided annually by the KCMRC based on millage revenues, client needs and priority of need.
