Upcoming Family Caregiver University Class
On Thursday, April 27th from 1:00-3:00pm, Caregiver Resource Network's Family Caregiver University will be presenting Elder Law 101. Do you have an Advanced Directive, a Durable Medical Power of Attorney, a Will or other documents in place? Have you been putting off the conversation with loved ones because you don't know where to start? Come listen to an elder law attorney and caregiver explain what each document is, why you need them and how to get them ready for you or your loved ones.

Class Offered for Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes
Want to meet one-on-one with a dietitian, learn how to modify recipes to make them diabetic friendly, determine what food you should eat and how to fit your favorite foods into a healthy lifestyle? Then a PATH Diabetes workshop is for you! Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan is offering Diabetes PATH workshops designed specifically for adults age 65 and over with Type 2 Diabetes.
Workshops meet one day a week for 6 weeks from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (3215 Eaglecrest Drive NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525).
Participants will learn how to manage their diabetes and take control of their life.

Summer Classes for Caregivers
Are you caring for an older adult or are you an older adult taking care of someone else? Attend one (or all) of the complimentary trainings in the Summer 2011 Caregiver Classes to help you become a better caregiver; you don’t have to walk the caregiver path alone.
The Caregiver Resource Network, is sponsoring three classes this summer to help family caregivers. Topics include organization, technology and medical transfers.
The first class is August 9, 2011 from 1:00 until 2:30. Experts from The Organizing Specialists will give you tips and tricks to get started and get organized.
