Volunteers Needed to Teach Diabetes Class
Want to help older adults take a more active role in their health? Volunteers are needed to lead Diabetes self-management classes for older adults with Type 2 diabetes, no experience necessary. Free training provided through Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan. Volunteers must attend four days of training (February 23-24 and March 1- 2 2016). Class Offered for Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes
Want to meet one-on-one with a dietitian, learn how to modify recipes to make them diabetic friendly, determine what food you should eat and how to fit your favorite foods into a healthy lifestyle? Then a PATH Diabetes workshop is for you! Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan is offering Diabetes PATH workshops designed specifically for adults age 65 and over with Type 2 Diabetes.
Workshops meet one day a week for 6 weeks from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (3215 Eaglecrest Drive NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525).
Participants will learn how to manage their diabetes and take control of their life.
