About Kent County Senior Millage

Kent County voters approved the senior millage in 1998 for a period of eight years .

¼ of a mill from property tax revenues is designated for senior services. Generating approximately $4.8 million per year, the senior millage serves close to 12,000 older adults with vital services such as home delivered meals, transportation assistance, care management, personal care, respite for caregivers, and light housekeeping.

Kent County contracts with the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan to administer the millage dollars. In 2006, $4.8 million will fund 39 different services for frail, low income older adults.
